Wow! Can it be September already? I have no idea where the summer has gone. Well, actually I do...we have done a little traveling, spent time visiting with family and friends and enjoying life! It seems that we packed a whole lot of fun into just a few weeks.
It started with a beach weekend with the women in my Mom's family, then home for a few days to work. Amelia liked playing with everyone and was a good shopper. We had a good trip until Saturday when most everyone went down with the stomach bug. Thankfully the three babies we had with us managed to stay healthy!

Off again to Columbus to visit with my fabulous girlfriends from college (after a brief, but yummy lunch with Scott's mom, aka Grandmomma and Aunt Anna) and their kids. It was a great hullabaloo with 6 adults and 12 children! Amelia loved the attention from the older girls and would just sit and watch what everyone was doing. She has become very observant! Then the plan was to come home to work, but the stomach bug that I had avoided for 2 weeks caught up with me! Thankfully I was better in 24 hours and we were off to get Amelia's 6 month pictures made. I can hardly believe that she is 6 1/2 months old!!

Then it was home to work once more and Amelia's 6 mo. doctor's appointment (wt 11lbs, 7 oz).
Finally to cap off all our adventures we headed to the beach for a week of fun in the sun with Mimi, Papa, Uncle Rhett, Aunt Heather and cousin Caleb! Amelia Island was our destination and we had a ball enjoying the sun, the sea and each other. Caleb was a riot! He took his first few
steps and was a monster crawler on the beach. It was fun to watch him crawl along with the determined look on his face. He loved to play (read eat!) the sand and crawl in and out of holes that his daddy dug for him.

Amelia was pretty content to sit in her bouncy seat. She played with her toys, watched the ocean and took lots of naps! Every morning we would load up to walk to the beach and as soon as we hit the sand she would start dancing in the front carrier I had her in! It's like she knew an adventure was about to begin.

And the biggest news of all....Amelia finally got to eat cereal. Her Papa (my dad) had been after me for forever (it seems!) to "feed that girl". So, I waited until vacation because I would be home with her for several days in a row and could get her into a routine. Initially she wasn't too sure about it all, but the girl catches on quick!

Amelia has absolutely loved getting cereal. YUMMY!! She acts like she can't get it in fast enough! I guess soon we will be starting veggies~it has been an adventure for sure!
